About the Role

The Executive Coordinator provides critical executive and administrative support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) STEM and the Office of the DVC STEM, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities across the STEM College. Acting as the first point of contact for the DVC, the role requires a high level of discretion, initiative, and professionalism, with regular interaction across the University and with external stakeholders. This role will see you:


	Managing the DVC's complex calendar, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination
	Preparing high-quality briefing materials, correspondence, and reports
	Coordinating key meetings and university-wide events, including agendas, minutes, and follow-up action
	Supporting the operation of governance committees and internal communications
	Overseeing office and records management in line with university procedures
	Facilitating timely and effective communication with senior staff, government representatives, and external organisations
	Assisting with the delivery of special projects and strategic initiatives led by the DVC STEM


About You

You're an experienced executive support professional with a strong background in high-level administration, ideally within a university or similarly complex environment. You bring discretion, initiative, and the ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:


	Executive-level support experience in a large, fast-paced organisation.
	Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative, client-focused approach.
	Initiative and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and handle sensitive matters.
	Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital document management tools.
	Experience in financial administration (highly desirable).
	Understanding of the tertiary education sector (highly desirable).


Qualifications

A tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant education/training and extensive experience.

In 2006 Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) was created by the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong University – a top ten university in China. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED LINGUISTICS

The Department of Applied Linguistics is a research-intensive environment with two MA programmes, which also contributes a Linguistics pathway on four UG programmes. Linguistics at XJTLU is a rapidly expanding area. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Associate/Senior Professor/Professor with excellent research, teaching, and supervision qualifications who will contribute to the department’s research profile. We are specifically looking for candidates who can contribute to teaching and research in one of the following areas:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

In terms of teaching, in addition to their specified area, the successful candidate must be able to contribute widely to the Undergraduate Programme, including in least two of the following: Introduction to Linguistics: Discourse, English as a Global Language, History of English, Language and Society, Semantics and Pragmatics, Language and Gender, Health Humanities, Intercultural Communication, or Language Documentation. A contribution to academic administration will also be expected.?

Staff typically teach 1-1.5module(s) per semester, depending on student numbers. The typical contact hours are around 6 hours per week.

	A Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Linguistics, or a related discipline is essential.

	Experience of teaching and supervision at the Postgraduate level is highly desirable
	Experience of Technology Enhanced Learning is desirable.
	Willingness to engage with AI in pedagogy is essential.

About the position

The successful incumbent will be required to contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across several subjects in our Gender, Sexuality, and Diversity Studies major, which is part of the Bachelor of Arts at La Trobe University.
