It is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and is located in Sohra (Cherrapunjee), East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya.
The institute offers bachelor of technology degrees in computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering.?
Admission is based on national entrance exams and counselling.?
Postgraduate programmes include master of technology degrees in civil, computer science, electronics and communication, electrical and mechanical engineering. Master of science courses are available in physics, chemistry and mathematics. Doctoral research programmes cover science, engineering and interdisciplinary fields.

The School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine & Sciences (SCMMS), is one of six schools in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine (FoLSM) at King College London. The School drives translation of world-leading basic science into advances in clinical practice in cardiac, vascular and metabolic medicine. The School also hosts activities of the MRC/BHF Centre of Excellence for Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics (REACT) and the BHF Centre of Research Excellence at King’s.

About The Role

Applications are invited for a talented and enthusiastic postdoctoral scientist to join Prof Mauro Giacca’s laboratory at the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine & Sciences at King's College London. The postholder will be part of a vibrant multi-disciplinary research group operating across different research themes in cardiac biology, having the specific aim to develop technologies for gene editing of cardiovascular inherited conditions.

In particular, the post-holder will develop CRISPR/Cas9- and Prime Editing-based methods for the corrections of DNA mutations leading to cardiomyopathy. This work will be performed in primary cardiomyocytes from human iPS cells, human myocardial slices from patients and humanised mouse models with the same mutations as patients, all of which are currently available in the laboratory.

Minimum qualifications are PhD and/or MD with expertise in molecular and cellular biology and prior experience in gene editing, also for different applications.? Candidates should be highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work independently. The post holder will have the opportunity to write and publish results of research studies in high impact score peer-reviewed journals and report research results at international conferences.

The post is based within the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine & Sciences at the James Black Centre (King’s Denmark Hill campus) as part of the King’s College London BHF Centre of Research Excellence and the MRC/BHF Centre for Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics (REACT). The School and these Centres provide an outstanding highly multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art equipment, facilities and technical support for both laboratory work and animal studies.

The post is offered as a 1-year initial contract, with possibility of extension.

About You

Job Summary

The QU Health Senior CPD Assessment and Evaluation Specialist supports the mission of QU Health and the QU Health CPD Department by developing, implementing, and analyzing appropriate CPD assessment and evaluative tools, to quality assure and improve CPD activities. Further, this position requires expert understanding of the Department for Healthcare Professionals (DHP) CPD accreditation standards to support the activities relating to maintaining accredited CPD provider status through DHP.?

Key Responsibilities:


	Work in partnership with CPD developers from the QU Health Colleges and Departments to develop, implement and analyze assessment tools to measure the impact(s) of QU Health CPD activities.
	Work in partnership with CPD developers from the QU Health Colleges and Departments to develop, implement and analyze CPD evaluative tools to quality assure QU Health CPD activities.
	Coordinate and support the accreditation of CPD activities offered by QU Health CPD department.
	Work with the QU Health CPD team to process the necessary accreditation documents and identify the appropriate evidence required for submission to demonstrate compliance with the DHP CPD accreditation standards
	Work in partnership with QU Health CPD developers as focal point to advise and verify compliance with DHP accreditation standards for specific CPD activities.
	Monitor the advertising, promotion and delivery of all CPD activities offered by CPD-HP to ensure adherence to the DHP accreditation standards.
	Maintain accreditation data and files; track status of accreditation reports; develop summary documents to disseminate accreditation data as required.
	Draft and update relevant policies and procedures of the CPD-HP unit, with regular liaison with the QU Health CPD-HP Advisory Committee.
	Provide strategic oversight in the development of CPD programs, including identifying appropriate local and international collaborators and partners to work with in developing and delivering CPD content.
	Provide timely and relevant information to aid in decision-making and support presentations to QU Health CPD stakeholders.
	Assist the Section Head of QU Health CPD program with preparation for conferences and educational workshops on accreditation
	Initiate and contribute to research in the domain of CPD that investigates optimization of operations related to CPD.
	Performs other related duties as assigned by the Section Head of QU Health CPD program or VP office.

The Glycoprotein Therapeutics Laboratory, led by Professor Max Crispin, is seeking a Research Technician to support advanced research in glycoprotein biology and structural glycobiology. This role involves the production, purification, and analysis of recombinant glycoproteins and antibodies, alongside supporting high-throughput glycomics workflows.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in mammalian cell culture, protein production, sample preparation, and glycan analysis. They will play a key role in maintaining smooth lab operations, generating high-quality data, and supporting researchers across multiple projects focused on glycosylation in health and disease.

Key Responsibilities:


	Mammalian Cell Culture & Protein Production
	Maintain mammalian cell lines for recombinant protein expression. Perform transfections and optimise conditions for small- and medium-scale protein production.
	Protein Purification & Sample Preparation
	Purify recombinant proteins using affinity and size-exclusion chromatography. Prepare samples for glycan and glycoprotein analysis, including LC-MS workflows.

Awareness of glycoprotein biology, glycomics, or LC-MS workflows is desirable. High accuracy and attention to detail in experimental work and record-keeping are important.
