The Quality Lead will play a pivotal role in partnering with Vocational Education program teams, including dedicated teachers and visionary program leaders, to craft exceptional resources that not only meet but exceed the requirements of training packages. This position will facilitate collaboration with peer roles across the University, ensuring a unified and cohesive approach to the development of impactful vocational learning and assessment tools. With a strong emphasis on empowering educators, the Quality Lead will actively engage with both the Learning & Teaching Innovation team and the Learning & Teaching Delivery teams, fostering an environment where excellence in education can flourish.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:


	Expert knowledge of assessment requirements of Training Package qualifications and accredited courses i.e. vocational education competency-based training, ASQA, AQF and CRICOS requirements.
	Experience in the development of training & assessment tools applicable to a range of business programs or disciplines in a vocational educational setting.
	Highly developed skills in vocational assessment design and mapping assessment tools to the training package units of competency I.e. elements, performance criteria, skills, knowledge and assessment conditions and/or range statement and principles of assessment (Reliability, Fairness, Flexibility and Validity) and rules of evidence (Validity, Currency, Sufficiency and Authenticity).
	Experience in project management in education environments, exposure to Agile methodology (preferred but not mandatory), proven ability to meet deadlines and project milestones.
	Excellent communication skills and teamwork to influence improvements in assessment compliance and learning and teaching outcomes.
	Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with staff across all levels from a coaching and development perspective.


Qualifications

An Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above in teaching and learning which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University.

About us

King’s College London (King’s) is a world-leading Russell Group research institution. The work will be undertaken in the Centre for Host Microbiome Interactions, which is an integral component of the King's Faculty of Oral, Dental and Craniofacial Sciences. All Centre Principal Investigators are recognised world leaders in host-pathogen interactions, microbial pathogenesis, mucosal disease, immunology, and oral cancer. The Centre possesses core facilities designed for molecular, cellular, immunological, microbiological and animal research, and extensive scientific expertise in complementary research programmes.

About the role

*Candida?albicans?is usually a commensal organism of mucosal surfaces?but under suitably predisposing conditions can cause severe morbidity and life-threatening infections.?C.?albicans?possesses several virulence factors that promote disease including the ability to form hyphae and secrete the toxin candidalysin. However, the regulatory factors that control the yeast-hypha transition and direct pathogenic and commensal mechanisms are unclear. A Research Associate will employ molecular, protein, cellular, immunological and ‘omic’ technologies to investigate the yeast-hypha transition*,* candidalysin gene (ECE1) regulation, and the host response against pathogenic and commensal strains of?C.?albicans?in vivo*. They will be funded by the BBSRC and based in the laboratories of Professor Julian Naglik and Dr Jonathan Richardson at King’s College London, where they will produce independent, original research within the group.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until?29 June 2028 or 3 years from start date

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria


	PhD in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology/Genetics, Microbiology, Immunology or related discipline.
	Research experience in fungal pathogenesis, especially?Candida.
	Research experience in molecular biology and genetics i.e. gene regulation, transcription factor binding.
	Research experience in fungal CRISPR technology.
	Research experience in cell biology technologies i.e. signalling.
	Research experience with animal (mouse) work.
	Good verbal and written communication skills.
	Good practical and organisation skills.
	Computer skills (Office, information technology, bioinformatics).


Desirable criteria


	Personal Licence holder (for BSU work).
	Research experience in cell culture.
	Research experience in ‘omic’ technologies i.e. ChIP-Seq, CHIP-SICAP, (single cell) RNASeq.
	Research experience with immunological technologies i.e. westerns, antibody/T cell assays.

Join the project shaping the future of inclusive technology

At the University of Southampton, our research addresses some of the most pressing challenges of today’s world. Now, funded by EPSRC, we are looking for a talented?Postdoctoral Research Fellow?to join the?RADAR-SIGN-BRIDGE?project – an exciting initiative to develop?privacy-preserving radar technology?for?British Sign Language (BSL) recognition and translation.

You will be based in the?School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS), working alongside an interdisciplinary team led by?Dr. Shelly Vishwakarma (s.vishwakarma@soton.ac.uk), in collaboration with partners at the?University of Edinburgh (Centre for Speech Technology Research, CSTR)?and?University College London (Deafness Cognition and Language Research Centre, DCAL).

About the role

You will lead the design, development, and validation of?LinguaRadar?– a first-of-its-kind radar simulator for sign language gestures. Your work will involve integrating animation pipelines (e.g., OpenPose, MediaPipe, Blender) with radar signal models, generating synthetic radar datasets, and validating them with real-world measurements from?radar hardware.

As part of the team, you will:


	Build and validate radar signal simulation frameworks for BSL gestures.
	Process skeletal motion data to drive simulation pipelines.
	Conduct radar experiments to calibrate and benchmark simulation outputs.
	Write academic papers, contribute to open-source dataset releases, and present your work at international conferences.


About you

You will bring your passion for advancing radar sensing technology into a new application domain. You will have:


	A PhD* or equivalent qualification / experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Signal Processing, or a closely related field.
	Proven experience in radar systems, radar signal processing, and simulation.
	Strong programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or C++).
	Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.


Experience with micro-Doppler or range-Doppler radar analysis, or familiarity with animation/motion capture data processing, would be advantageous.

University of Southampton

You will be directly involved with the UNIFORM (UNIfying Grid-FOllowing And Grid-foRMing Control In Inverter-based Resources) project, a collaborative programme with four academic and industrial partners that aspire to develop the next generation of inverter control. It is essential to have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualifications in Electrical/Power Systems, and especially in the areas of power system dynamics, stability and grid-forming control. Proficiency with relevant software, such as MATLAB/Simulink, is essential. Experience with hardware in the loop (HIL) setups and tests is desirable.

This highly collaborative project will involve multiple research visits to academic partners within the UK and abroad up to 30 consecutive days and up to 90 days per annum for joint research and knowledge exchange, as well as travel to conference and other venues for dissemination activities.
