Established in 1966 in Kalyanpur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University was created to reduce academic load on Agra University. It serves students across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
The university offers a wide range of subjects including arts, commerce, science, education, law, management, medicine, Ayurvedic and Unani studies, engineering, technology, agriculture, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, health studies and performing arts. Vocational and job-oriented courses such as BTech, MBA and BEd have been added since the 1990s.
A 2021 restructure introduced specialised schools in languages, science, law, agriculture and biotechnology. The university supports initiatives aligned with India’s New Education Policy 2020, Sustainable Development Goals and Atma Nirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).The 264-acre campus includes administrative buildings, residences, guest houses and hostels. Constituent institutions include GSVM Medical College, Nursing College and the University Institute of Engineering and Technology. 	?You will teach courses in German and English in the fields of International Management and related areas such as
	Organizational Behavior, International Marketing, and International HRM in bachelor’s and master’s degree
	programs at the Faculty of Business and Law. You will use both traditional classroom-based and digital teaching formats, such as blended learning.
	You will participate in the organizational, conceptual, and methodological-didactic development of the faculty's study program on current topics in the field of International Management, such as globalization, sustainability, and diversity management, and you will play an active role in academic self-administration.
	You supervise and advise students in the context of project work, as well as bachelor's and master's theses.
	You will initiate and/or collaborate on research activities and publications in the field of International Management.
	You keep contacts with companies and support the faculty in expanding its cooperation network.
	You also keep contacts with partner universities and support the university in maintaining and developing its partner network and promoting internationalization.

About the person

The Role

The postholder will contribute to the UKRI-funded Great British Chemicals (GBC) Hub, a seven-year national programme bringing together 10 UK universities, industry partners, and policymakers to accelerate the transformation of the UK chemical sector towards net to zero.

The PDRA will develop and apply digital technologies at the intersection of blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and sustainable chemistry. In particular, the role will involve: (i) designing blockchain architectures and smart contracts for CO2 credit tracking, tokenisation of CO2 derived products; (ii) integrating blockchain systems into AI-driven monitoring, predictive analytics, and digital twins (virtual models of CO2 conversion processes that mirror real-world performance) to support real-time optimisation.

The position will evolve over time with strict deadlines. The postholder will closely work with Dr. Arz Karam (Project Lead) and collaborators across the hub, contributing to the advancement of the project and helping to deliver the GBC Hub's ambition to create blockchain- and AI-enabled CO2 -to-products markets.

The postholder will join a research project led by Dr. Arz Karam. The role is designed to support and advance the GBC objectives, with the expectation that the postholder will contribute their own expertise, ideas and initiative while working closely with the project lead and the wider team.

The successful applicant will ideally be in post as soon as possible following the interview, which is scheduled to take place on 20 October 2025.

The role is primarily based at Durham University Business School / Department of Finance, but flexible and remote working arrangements can be discussed with the Project Lead to support the needs of both the project and the postholder.
