An exhibition of performances centred on the works of a Benedictine monk that were part of the British "concrete poetry" movement in the 1960s and 1970s has been put on display. The Gallery at Norwich University College of the Arts is host to Frog-Pond-Plop: the Yoga of Concrete, which explores the work of Dom Sylvester Houedard of Prinknash Abbey, Gloucestershire, one of the leading practitioners and theorists of the movement. Concrete poetry considers the physical appearance of words as well as their meaning. Frog-Pond-Plop explores Houedard's collaborations with other artists exploring Eastern philosophy, particularly the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The exhibition is being curated by student Nicola Simpson as part of her doctoral research.
