Chris Hutchinson, the director of corporate development at Southampton Institute of Higher Education, who was suspended on full pay last month following the troubled launch of an Athens-based campus, has agreed to take voluntary redundancy from January 1997. In return, the decision to suspend him has been revoked. The institute said the action was part of a wider reorganisation of the directorate but refused to give further details.
