Clinical academics are to this year receive a 4.2 per cent staged pay rise, compared with a staged 3.8 per cent offered to non-clinical academics. The 4.2 per cent is in line with the rise in pay for doctors and dentists working outside academia. It will be phased in with a 2.35 per cent increase immediately, and a further 2.2 per cent from December 1. This makes an actual 3.1 per cent overall increase in pay for staff across the year compared with 2.6 per cent for non-clinical academics.
