Cranfield University is merging two affiliated Bedfordshire colleges - Shuttleworth and Silsoe. Shuttleworth's 210 students and 15 staff will move the ten miles to Silsoe. Frank Hartley, vice chancellor of Cranfield, said running costs were being reduced to save jobs following a Pounds 948,700 funding cut.
