Polissia National University traces its origins to 1922 and is located in Zhytomyr, north-western Ukraine. It began as the Volyn Agricultural Polytechnic and evolved through various stages including the Zhytomyr Agricultural Institute and Zhytomyr National Agroecological University, adopting its current name to reflect regional and ecological focus.
The main campus at Staryy Boulevard offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across agronomy, veterinary medicine, forestry, ecology, law, public administration, economics, tourism, IT, accounting, finance, engineering and energy.
Facilities include a botanical garden, agronomy and veterinary research units, veterinary clinic, robotics and remote sensing laboratories, space and geoinformation technology centre, dormitories, sports facilities, student union, libraries and research centres. The university emphasises applied learning through dual education and innovation centres.
