Bauchi State University, Gadau

Bauchi State University was founded in 2011 with three campuses around the state of Bauchi itself. The university is run by the Nigerian Bauchi State Government. 
While the student body is mostly composed of residents of Bauchi State, the university accepts candidates from all over Nigeria and has on-campus accommodation to facilitate students traveling from across the country. 
Bauchi State University has nine faculties in total, including: agriculture, arts, engineering, environmental science, education, law, pharmaceutical science, social and management science, and science. Programmes are offered from an undergraduate level to a postgraduate level, and remedial courses are also on offer.
Since the university was established in 2011, it has expanded to four campuses: Gadau, Misau, Bauchi, and Jama’are. The main campus is located in Gadau and houses the faculties of: arts, education, science, and pharmaceutical science. Misau, Bauchi, and Jama’are are periphery campuses specialising in certain faculty offerings.
Bauchi State is located in the North East of Nigeria, and takes its name from the historic town of Bauchi.

Duties and Responsibilities

To conduct research on the numerical modeling of giant-planet magnetospheres, with a primary emphasis on Jupiter’s magnetosphere–ionosphere system. The successful candidate will lead and analyze global magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulations of solar wind–magnetosphere–ionosphere coupling, perform data–model comparisons, and collaborate closely with Prof. Binzheng Zhang and other DEPS researchers.

Requirements


	a Ph.D. degree in space physics, magnetospheric physics, or a closely related field
	demonstrated expertise in global MHD simulations of planetary magnetospheres; candidates with direct experience modeling Jupiter’s magnetosphere–ionosphere system are strongly preferred
	experience working with high-performance computing (HPC) environments and large-scale numerical codes for space plasmas; proficiency with scientific programming (e.g., Fortran/C/C++/Python) and Linux is an advantage
	Experience with data–model comparisons (e.g., Juno, Galileo) is desirable
	possess a good command of written and spoken English

The School of Human Development and Health, within the University’s Faculty of Medicine, is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Nutritional Science. The successful applicant will have strong research, educational, and organisational skills.

The appointee will be expected to develop and implement an innovative research programme aligned to the School research strategy with a focus on translational nutritional science. The research will complement and integrate with other School research in nutrition, endocrinology and metabolism and with that of the NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).?

The appointee will be expected to make a significant contribution to leadership, management, enterprise and delivery of education at both UG (BM) and PG (PGT/MSc in Biomedical Science by Research/PhD) levels including developing?the Faculty’s teaching portfolio.

The successful candidate will be supported by internationally recognised leaders in areas of relevance to research in nutrition, endocrinology and metabolism. The appointee will be expected to create and manage an independent, internationally recognised research programme and to obtain a portfolio of grant support to develop and sustain it. About the role

This role will work across various programmes activity at King’s Academy such as the delivery of the King’s Education Awards, Staff Student Partnership, and initiatives within the Leadership and Scholarship programme. In addition, the role will support the Head of Operations in providing business support within the team.

This is an exciting opportunity for colleagues who wish to build on their project management skills and expertise working closely with educators both within King’s Academy and across Faculties, engaging with Faculty Staff and Students, to co-develop programmes and activities that will ultimately support staff who teach.

The Senior Programme Manager will join a friendly, existing Operations Team at King’s Academy and will be closely supported within King’s Academy. The postholder will help to ensure operational efficiency in key areas.? At times members from?the team will share responsibilities and duties when required.

The role is primarily based at King’s JCMB Campus though you may be required to travel to other campuses on occasion. As part of King’s hybrid working policy, all team members are expected to be on campus 40-60% of the time, though we would be happy to consider flexible working in discussion with you.

The post will be an indefinite contract. This is a full time post (35 hours per week) on a Professional Services contract.
