Scholarship of the month: Commonwealth master’s scholarship

The Commonwealth master’s scholarship is for international students from Commonwealth countries who wish to pursue a master’s programme in the UK

The allows students from Commonwealth countries to pursue a master’s degree in the UK.

The deadline for submitting an application is 16:00 BST (15:00 GMT) on 14 October 2025. The scholarships are for UK-based studies beginning in September/October 2026.

Students must submit their applications via the online portal. Applications not submitted via the online system will not be considered.

There is a new application system for this year and it is recommended that applicants prepare their answers outside of the system before adding them to the form once they are finalised. Candidates should submit their applications as early as possible.

Applicants must apply to a nominator, which will either be from the list of national nominating agencies or from selected national government organisations or charities.

Students from including India, Kenya, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria and Sri Lanka are eligible to apply.

The scholarship includes airfare to and from the scholars country of residence, full tuition fees, a living allowance, warm clothing allowance, a grant towards study-related travel in the UK and childcare allowance, based on circumstances.

Successful applicants will hear about the outcome of their application in July 2026.
